Taemin is loved by his hyungs and everybody knew that. He received love from everyone, no one could hate the maknae, it just….isn’t something anyone did, no one hated on Taemin. Everyone loves Taemin. Even Onew, but the hard part, is the fact that Onew puts everyone before himself which gives everyone the chance to show everyone else their love to the maknae and all he could do was to be the hyung at the background that had his arms ready for the maknae to hug when he was tired, his shoulders to hit when he was mad, his chest to cry on when he was having a hard time.
Sometimes it was hard to be the hyung at the background that could do nothing but watch the maknae go about with his business. But tonight was different, Onew made it different, he made sure that he, for once, gets to show everyone else that he, too, had a place in the heart of the maknae and to prove that, even just to himself was when Taemin had something stuck on his eye while he was talking, and Onew leaned close to blow on it. When whatever got stuck on Taemin’s eye went away he looked at his hyung, his eyes glimmering prettily against the spotlight and Onew knew then that in the maknae’s small heart, he had a place for the leader. Onew smiled as if in triumph and felt his heart race like it was released from a cage, as if it were flying.
